Since 2006 the developments on the WWW have improved considerably in the area of real time river height data, data is slowly being more centralized with several Govt sites combining data for view on the web. ie BOM & NRETA. (BOM River heights now show the last few days of hourly heights (in real time) where previously you had to check & record each hour of the night to get a picture of what is going on. The BOM site now displays plots & tables of river gauging stations over a 4 day period in real time. In 2006 you would await a 6 hourly update on the NRETA site.
